Big Ramy, the two-time and reigning Mr. Olympia, provided a physique update this week. A photo and video were posted on his Instagram account capturing him posing (shirtless in basketball shorts) in a gym locker room. The caption of the photo read: “18 weeks out at 336.6lbs/153kg.” The 18 weeks is in reference to the 2022 Mr. Olympia, which will be held in Las Vegas on December 16-17. That’s when Egypt’s Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay will be going for Mr. Olympia title number three. If he wins again he’ll establish a dynasty of dominance. (Only seven previous Mr. O’s have won three or more consecutive titles.)

The day after the photo (seen above) was posted, a video of the posing session was posted.

Reactions flooded in. Most notable was 7-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, who commented: “Welp. Y’all better bring it because he’s not playin around.”

These are captures from that Instagram video:

Big Ramy looks remarkably lean for such a huge bodyweight and for being over four months away from the Mr. Olympia. He hasn’t even begun to diet. And, as seen in his Instagram stories, he’s been moving some very heavy metal, especially on leg day, including repping out 450-pound front squats and leg presses with seemingly every plate in the gym.

Unlike last year, when he was troubled by personal matters and stayed out of the gym too long, Big Ramy has been growing towards the Mr. Olympia for all of 2022. Judging by his lean 337-pound physique, Ramy is determined to bring a bigger, better version of himself to the Olympia stage in 18 weeks in his quest for his third Sandow trophy.
