CES 2025 has come and gone. So it’s time again for The Barbell annual rundown of the best of high-tech fitness. As always, there are some incredible innovations in the wider world of working out and workout recovery, this year incorporating AI, your body’s own energy, and even your bathtub. It’s time to geek out. These are The Barbell top four cutting edge products in fitness tech at CES 2025.

Amp Fitness
Amp Fitness

Artificial intelligence continues to impact more and more areas of our life. And that includes our workouts. Amp Fitness uses AI technology to personalize each user’s home workout and features an innovative design. It learns from training sessions, analyzing movements, resistance, reps, and more to tailor workouts that challenge and inspire. Unlike other home gyms, which would be eyesores in living rooms, the machine’s minimalist aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly into any environment. But it doesn’t just look great. Its adjustable arm, which can go from the floor to overhead, and various attachments allow you to do 100s of resistance exercises (the “poundage” is dialed in on a digital control or a phone app, going up to 100 pounds), working every body part, as well as Pilates and mobility exercises.

Amp will be available soon for $1795. Check out the website for more info.

Gym Monster
Speediance

Speediance Gym Monster was one of the first A.I. home gyms. It features up to 220 pounds (100 kg.) of digital resistance, 10 different heights for the locking mechanism to perform a wide variety of exercises for every body part, and a large HD screen for tutorials and workout tracking. The new 2.0 version is an all-around upgrade: 11 locking heights, superior audio and interior cooling, and a smaller footprint and lighter weight. With over twice the resistance, this may be a better option than the Amp Fitness machine for experienced (stronger) trainers, though it does have a much bigger footprint and somewhat more traditional home gym design that won’t blend into every room.

Gym Monster 2 retails for $3390. Check out the website for more info.

MuscleGuard
Barun Bio

MuscleGuard may just be the future of knee braces. It incorporates a proprietary energy harvesting technology, WE-STIM.MEDâ„¢, which gives continuous micro-electrical stimulation to key muscle areas without any batteries or devices by using your body’s own energy. It not only supports weakened muscles and joints but also activates muscle cells. MuscleGuard offers a groundbreaking and eco-friendly solution for those looking to treat muscle atrophy, recover from injuries, or just improve strength and overall fitness. From Barun Bio, their We-Stim leggings made our top four at the 2024 CES. We at The Barbell are intrigued about this technology and what it may portend for the near future of wearable muscle stimulators. More, please!

HomePlunge
Home Plunge

We end with this year’s CES Innovation Award winner in the fitness category. HomePlunge is the first cold plunge solution designed for your own bathtub. At-home solutions for cold plunging can be cost and space prohibitive. But with HomePlunge, no additional water tank is required. All you need is a tub (the deeper the better). Pumping bath water in and out of the cooling system, it lowers the temperature by 10 degrees per hour and can go as low as 39° Fahrenheit (4° Celsius).

HomePlunge founder Christopher Francis said: “In January of 2023, while icing after an intense [soccer] game, I desperately wanted to cold plunge. I looked to see what kind of products were available when I realized the market shared two major challenges: price and space. Living in San Francisco with no backyard and no space indoors, I was left without an option. I thought, certainly someone has made a system for the home bathtub. To my surprise I couldn’t find anything. It turns out, it’s not easy to design a cold plunge that performs well while still looking good in the bathroom. That’s when I decided to take on the challenge myself as the product was selfishly something I wanted to have. Months later, HomePlunge was born.”

HomePlunge retails for $2800. Check out the website for more info.
