The world’s first smart weight sled has arrived. This week at the IHRSA fitness industry trade show, BodyKore unveiled its new Smart Sled Pro. The sled is controlled through an app by Mach Fitness Lab using Bluetooth technology to digitally reduce or increase resistance or change modes during workouts: standard, change of direction, random, and, soon, rolling hills. (Manual switches can be used without the app.) The app measures power, distance, stability, and force production, and provides feedback in real time, so trainers and coaches can monitor progress and make necessary adjustments, even while the sled is being pushed or pulled.

The Smart Sled Pro, which can be pre-ordered for $3825, features:

◾️ smart technology and app;

◾️ dual magnetic motors to adjust digitized resistance and space for adding up to 1000 pounds of additional weighted resistance;

◾️ multi-planar movement capabilities;

◾️ live data analytics;

◾️ multiple training modes with varying intensity levels for customizable training.

“We are excited to showcase our app with the Smart Sled Pro at the IHRSA,” said Alex Kim, CEO of MACH Fitness Lab. “It is the first of a series of products we’re launching with BodyKore to provide live data feedback and fully programmable modes that can be controlled through an application. We believe this app has the potential to change the game for athletic training and are eager to see its impact on the fitness industry.”

Smart technology will play a big role in the future of weight-training. It’s starting to happen now, and The Barbell is here for it.
