Nike

Nike is making a strong move into the strength field. The 51-year-old apparel giant launched Nike Strength, a line of weight-training equipment. The debut products include dumbbells (5-100 lbs.), kettlebells (9-88 lbs.), barbells (in chrome, black chrome, red, and orange), “Grind” bumper plates, squat racks, benches, and dumbbell racks. The new Nike Strength website features Nike-sponsored athletes, including LeBron James, Russell Wilson, and Nelly Korda. The branded collection is now for sale on the website and at select retailers.

Nike Making Fitness Moves

Nike Strength is just the latest big move by Nike into the fitness and wellness space this year. In August, the company announced a partnership with FitLab to begin a network of group fitness studios in Southern California. In June, the Nike Well Collective began creating fitness content, programming, and experiences devoted to holistic fitness, including mindfulness, nutrition, and rest. And in May, Nike partnered with Strava to create a fitness subscription platform with exclusive content from Nike athletes and coaches. When it comes to fitness, Nike is expanding far beyond shoes and following its own motto: Just do it.
